Footage of the encounter was posted Friday to the “Welcome To YNP: Invasion of the Idiots!” Fb web page and reveals the person creeping as much as the large animal from behind. The bison turned and chased the camera-toting man away. The end result may have been a lot worse. Watch the clip here.
“It’s unlawful, in addition to harmful, to strategy wildlife,” Yellowstone spokesperson Linda Veress advised For the Win. “Bison have injured extra individuals in Yellowstone than another animal. They’re unpredictable and might run 3 times quicker than people. The animals in Yellowstone are wild and unpredictable, irrespective of how calm they seem like.”
Sean Swetter, who posted the video, wrote that the person’s spouse “requested for my bear spray to get the bison away from the path so they may get again to their automobile.”
