LONDON, Oct 28 (Reuters) – Chart-topper Rihanna launched her first solo music in six years on Friday, an emotional ballad written in tribute to late actor Chadwick Boseman.
“Carry Me Up”, Barbados-born Rihanna’s first new tune since her 2016 album “Anti”, options on the soundtrack of upcoming Marvel movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Eternally”.
The transfer is a sequel to the 2018 field workplace hit “Black Panther” wherein Boseman performed the lead King T’Challa.
The actor died in 2020 after a four-year battle with colon most cancers that he had saved personal. He was 43.

“Blessed to have written this tune in honour of Chadwick Boseman and much more blessed to listen to the baddest @badgalriri voice it to perfection,” Tems, the tune’s co-writer, wrote on Instagram, referencing Rihanna.
Rihanna’s followers have been ready for a follow-up to “Anti”, her eighth studio album. Whereas the singer, born Robyn Fenty, has featured on songs “Lemon” and “Imagine it” lately, “Carry Me Up” is her first solo launch since “Anti”.
Earlier this week, the 34-year-old Grammy Award winner, who will carry out on the Tremendous Bowl halftime present in February, had teased the brand new observe, wherein she sings: “Carry me up / Maintain me down / Maintain me shut / Secure and sound”.
In recent times, Rihanna, whose chart-topping hits embody “Umbrella”, “Diamonds” and “Work”, has developed her make-up and lingerie strains. She welcomed a child in Might together with her rapper companion A$AP Rocky
