LONDON, March 24 (Reuters) – Artist duo Gilbert & George are bringing their imaginative and prescient of the world to a devoted new exhibition venue in east London, with a lot of the programme proven totally free according to their “artwork for all” ethos.

The Gilbert & George Centre, within the metropolis’s Spitalfields space, is lower than 5 minutes from the life and work companions’ house and studio.

The brand new centre, transformed from a former brewery constructing and that includes three ranges of gallery house run as a registered charity, will open to the general public on April 1, with the inaugural free exhibition “The Paradisical Footage”.

The works present the pair, generally disembodied, amid vibrant psychedelic depictions of fruits, flowers and leaves.

“Most individuals consider paradise because the after-party,” George, 81, stated. “The photographs deal with the individuals who consider within the after-life with equal courtesy to the individuals who do not consider within the after-life.”

Requested how their work has developed over the many years, Gilbert, 79, stated: “What we see at present is totally different to what we used to see 30, 40 years in the past, it is drawing our imaginative and prescient of at present as human beings.”

George added on their success: “We have been very, very fortunate in that manner. We are saying we have walked the streets of London and now we have walked the streets of the world.”
