Friday. Colorado breweries are once again turning to the dark side on Black Friday by releasing some of their biggest and best porters, stouts and other dark beers. Looking for suggestions on where to go for this annual tradition? We’ve got some suggestions.
River North Brewery releases this year’s iteration of Hammond’s Candy Cane Porter, an 11% ABV holiday-season collaboration with Hammond’s Candy. The brewery will also debut its Christmas Tripel, a spiced Abbey ale brewed with orange peel, allspice, ginger, cinnamon, and clove. Station 26 Brewing Co., 7045 E. 38th Ave. in Denver, hosts a Black Friday Russian Imperial Stout event with several variations, including Salted Caramel, Creme Brûlée, Thai Iced Coffee, and Candied Dark Chocolate Fig. New Terrain Brewing, 16401 Table Mountain Parkway in Golden, is releasing three versions of Black Planet, an imperial porter with tangerine and vanilla and conditioned on oak. The brewery will have its original version on draft along with two barrel-aged versions available in bottles. Also in Golden, Cannonball Creek Brewing, 393 N. Horseshoe’s holiday return
Through Dec. 8. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Horseshoe Craft & Flea Market’s holiday offerings, which were among the first in the metro area to marry hip, quirky, upscale gifts with more affordable local artisans. Horseshoe this year will host a pair of holiday markets with more than 200 vendors in total, producers said, with the first dates on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Highlands Masonic Temple, 3550 Federal Blvd. in Denver.
Those 10 a.m.-4 p.m. events will feature 120 vendors inside the temple and in outdoor heated tents. Admission is free. “The Last Decade Before the Future”
Through Oct. 26, 2025. People who lived through the 1990s will attest to how incredibly far away they seem these days. That makes History Colorado Center’s new exhibit both a welcome return and an education for younger visitors. The artifacts alone at “The 90s: Last Decade Before the Future” are striking: a piece of the Berlin Wall; Bill Clinton’s saxophone (played on “Arsenio Hall”); costumes and memorabilia used by sports stars and celebs ranging from John Elway to Tom Hanks and Jay-Z; and the toys and tech that instantly draw us back into those moments (well, some of us).

“GloWing” at the Savoy
Through Dec. 8. Take a breather from the parade of “Nutcracker” and “A Christmas Carol” productions with the new “GloWing.” The family-friendly seasonal show “fuses circus and theatre to tell a tale of flight, light, and dreams,” wrote Amber Blais of Starry Night Productions, which co-created the show with Theatre Artibus.
Performances will include juggling, aerial dance, comedic movement, and “so much more in what we hope will become a new holiday favorite,” Blais wrote. It runs through Dec. 8 at The Savoy Denver, 2700 Arapahoe St. in Denver. While it’s family friendly, the event is 6-and-up.
