Alexander Volkanovski remains to be enthusiastic about a 3rd bout with Max Holloway, even if he is already gained the primary two fights.
Following his dominating efficiency towards ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273, Alexander Volkanovski confirmed with BT Sport that he’d settle for a trilogy struggle towards Holloway. The defending featherweight champ simply would not sound enthusiastic about chasing it. He mentioned:
“We’ll see if [Holloway] even desires it. He retains speaking about different fights and transferring up, cash fights and all that. If he desires to do this, effective, try this. I am going to simply hold doing my factor. We’ll see. Clearly we will discuss to them. We’ll make the subsequent struggle for the precise causes. If there’s going to be a trilogy, it may be for the precise causes. Not as a result of I need to show one thing to haters and whatnot. However it’s nonetheless a struggle that I need, and I feel the gang desires. I feel it’d do good PPVs, it is a large struggle. So it is smart. So I am guessing that is what it’s going to be. However we’ll discuss to Dana and Sean Shelby and we’ll get some cash for it too.”

Alexander Volkonovski’s win over Chan Sung Jung marks his third profitable featherweight title protection. With the extent of dominance ‘The Nice’ confirmed towards No. 2 ranked Brian Ortega and now No. 4 ranked Chan Sung Jung, there aren’t many opponents left for him to face at 145 kilos that followers would think about aggressive. Alexander Volkanovski has instructed a transfer to light-weight is feasible
If there is no respectable challenges for Alexander Volkanovski to face at featherweight, ‘The Nice’ declared he’d transfer as much as light-weight and search for opponents there.
In the course of the UFC 273 post-fight press convention, Volkanovski mentioned:
“I’m ready the place I can do a few issues, and if this division doesn’t need to type itself out they usually’re all going to take a seat again and f**king watch for s**t, then effective, I’ll transfer up and struggle light-weight. I’m a straightforward champ to grasp: Take that primary spot, you get that shot. If not, let’s transfer up. I feel we’re in a very good place to maneuver up, possibly see what occurs on this light-weight division title struggle, and possibly transfer up.”
Alexander Volkanovski is not any stranger to the light-weight division. A number of of the fights in his minor league days have been fought at 155 kilos, and he even has 5 welterweight fights on his file from the beginning of his struggle profession.
