An alleged drug trafficking ring that was distributing medicine, by means of mail, to inmates within the Larimer County Jail has been busted, authorities stated.
On Friday, the Northern Colorado Drug Process Power (NCDTF) and Larimer County Jail deputies “dismantled” the gang, arresting 12 suspects on felony and misdemeanor warrants together with jail inmates and out of doors defendants suspected of mailing medicine.
On the finish of 2021, employees found a rise in medicine on the jail “that weren’t being detected by normal strategies,” a sheriff’s workplace information launch stated.
An investigation revealed “suspicious exercise” on an inmate’s incoming mail, cellphone calls and textual content messages on the inmate’s pc pill. Fentanyl, methamphetamine and drug used to deal with opioid dependence had been present in mail despatched to a number of inmates, the discharge stated.

- Paper soaked in medicine
- Medicine infused into the ink on paper
- Medicine hidden within the seams of business envelopes
As a part of the investigation, detectives obtained search warrants for a residence within the 400 block of East 57th Road, Loveland, based on the discharge. The warrant was carried out on Friday and it resulted in arrests and seizures. Deputies searched the cells of suspected inmates and located further contraband.
“I consider the results of this investigation and the brand new costs incurred by these concerned will deter future makes an attempt to site visitors narcotics within the jail,” stated Captain Bobby Moll, jail division commander, within the launch.
There are extra suspects needed on excellent warrants but to be arrested, the sheriff’s workplace stated. An investigation is ongoing.
