LONDON, Could 26 (Reuters) – Andrew Fletcher, the keyboard participant and founder member of British digital pioneers Depeche Mode has died, the group stated on Thursday. He was 60.
“We’re shocked and full of overwhelming disappointment with the premature passing of our expensive pal, member of the family, and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher,” the group stated on Twitter.
Depeche Mode have been fashioned in Basildon, japanese England, in 1980 with the road up of Fletcher, Vince Clarke, Martin Gore and David Gahan. Their debut 1981 album “Communicate & Spell” put them on the centre of the British new wave scene.
After Alan Wilder changed Clarke in 1982, the band went on to search out worldwide success with the albums “Violator” in 1990 and “Songs of Religion and Devotion” in 1993.
