“I’m going to leap proper in right here tonight,” Maddow started on her broadcast Wednesday night time. “I don’t assume there may be any approach to ease into this. I don’t assume there may be any setup I can provide you that may make this any extra regular. No context I can present you that may make this much less bizarre. She then learn from the transcript of an October 2021 deposition that was filed in courtroom Tuesday and first reported on by The Daily Beast. In it, the previous president testified below oath that he was afraid of being hit by “very harmful” and probably deadly fruit thrown by detractors.
“With the discharge of this deposition on this previous day, we now know an entire new factor we didn’t know earlier than about former President Trump, which is that he’s apparently desperately afraid of a flying tomato,” Maddow commented.
Trump was testifying in a civil lawsuit filed by 5 activists who alleged they were violently attacked by Trump’s safety guards in September 2015 exterior Trump Tower in Manhattan. They are saying that Trump’s safety workforce, led by his longtime bodyguard Keith Schiller, ripped away their indicators and punched and briefly choked one protester.
