Dick Van Dyke has revealed why he’s “not afraid of” death as the legendary “Mary Poppins” actor spoke ahead of his 99th birthday next Friday in a new music video for Coldplay’s “All My Love.”
“I’m acutely aware that I’m, you know, could go any day now but I don’t why it doesn’t concern me, I’m not afraid of it,” said Van Dyke, who stars in a video that pays tribute to his life.
The video — directed by Spike Jonze and Mary Wigmore — sees the actor singing, dancing barefoot and requesting a song about “old age” as he sits down behind the piano with Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
“I have that feeling, totally against anything intellectual, that I’m going to be alright,” he said in the video.
Van Dyke, who looks at family photos and is joined by loved ones elsewhere in the video, reflects on the meaning of love and calls himself a “lucky” person who got to “do for a living what I would have done anyway.”
“When you think how lucky I am, I got to do what I do — play and act silly,” he said.

Martin — who appeared with Van Dyke on Thursday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” — revealed that his “No. 1 movie” is “Mary Poppins” and he once invited the actor and his wife Arlene Silver to join him and his children for breakfast a few years ago.
Martin told Kimmel that he’s seen “Mary Poppins” about “five or 6,000″ times and considers the actor to be a “neighbor” as he lives 8 miles away from him.
“It was really maybe the most fun thing I’ve ever done,” the singer said of the video.
“It makes me so grateful, it’s a big deal for me.”
The actor remarked on the singer’s talent during the shoot as he noted that he’s “from the days of Dixieland and ragtime.”

“How did you know how to play ragtime?” Van Dyke asked Martin.
“I’m a professional musician,” Martin replied.
The actor said he finds Martin’s songs to be “beautiful” and — when asked about his plans for his 99th birthday next Friday, the day Coldplay is set to drop a shorter version of the “All My Love” video — he said he wants to “hide out.”
