PARIS, Feb 23 (Reuters) – French writer Gallimard stated it had no intention of constructing modifications to translated variations of youngsters’s books by the late British novelist Roald Dahl, in contrast to the writer’s UK writer.

“Change a textual content right now with out (the writer’s) consent? No,” Hedwige Pasquet, director of Gallimard Jeunesse, stated in an interview with Le Figaro newspaper.

A report by Britain’s The Each day Telegraph final week stated that books by Dahl, comparable to 1988 story “Matilda”, “The BFG” (1982) and “Charlie and the Chocolate Manufacturing facility” (1964) had been edited to take away or alter references to gender, race and bodily look.
