MANILA, Feb 14 (Reuters) – Philippine authorities employee Mary Grace Burgos, 24, had a number of cute dates lined up for on Valentine’s Day with one factor in frequent: they had been all canine up for adoption.
Burgos was amongst a dozen of people that selected to spend their Valentine’s Day at an animal shelter within the Philippine capital. The shelter, run by the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), charged friends 500 to 1,000 pesos ($9.12 – $18.24) to spend half an hour with a furry date. The entry charge will go towards operating the shelter, which cares for over 240 canine and cats.”A few of these canine had been rescued from abusive households, or they got here from the streets with traumatic experiences,” Burgos, who herself owns seven canine at residence, stated in an interview.

PAWS marketing campaign officer Sharon Yap hoped the expertise would make the friends fall in love with the animals in search of a spot to name residence.
