Kirk Hammett Rushed ‘Portals’ Completion for Record Store Day

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed he’d been given every week to finish his debut solo EP Portals as soon as it was determined to launch it for Report Retailer Day.

The vinyl fanatic was introduced with the choice to tie in with the annual occasion, though it meant he needed to rush to get the work completed.

“It was all concerning the timing,” Hammett advised Kerrang in a latest interview. “I obtained a name from administration saying we had the chance to do it; and we bit the bullet and obtained every part carried out in every week so we might get it carried out for Report Retailer Day.”
