MEXICO CITY, Feb 22 (Reuters) – Working round on his new prosthetic legs, a Mexican pup as soon as tortured by prison teams is now residing the canine dream, adored by his adopted caretakers and even a finalist for the title of America’s favourite pet.
Rescued as a one-year-old along with his entrance limbs destroyed, Pay de Limon (Lemon Pie) discovered much-needed love on the Milagros Caninos sanctuary, a shelter south of Mexico Metropolis, which says he’s thriving 12 years later.
“He’s a survivor of human cruelty and arranged crime teams,” Patricia Ruiz, founding father of Milagros Caninos, instructed Reuters. “He would not maintain a grudge in opposition to anybody. People maintain grudges. Canines do not.”
Discovered deserted in a dumpster in Mexico’s central Zacatecas state, a hotbed for cartels and arranged crime, Lemon Pie was later transported to the security of the shelter within the capital.
Now, he is able to take a shot within the on-line contest for People’ dapperest canine, albeit a non-native contestant. The competition, America’s Favourite Pet, is open to pets on the American continent and runs as a part of a charity fundraiser.

The competition’s winner, to be introduced in March, will safe a $5,000 money prize and get the possibility to mannequin in a two-page unfold in Dogster journal.
Ruiz says the canine’s journey teaches “all of us to say ‘sure you may’, to say ‘sure to life’, regardless of every part. It doesn’t matter what occurs to you.”
