CANNES, France, Could 20 (Reuters) – The Ukraine disaster grabbed the highlight in Cannes on Friday as a semi-naked protester painted in blue and yellow was ejected from the purple carpet.
The unidentified girl ripped off her robe revealing the Ukrainian flag colors, with the phrases “STOP RAPING US” emblazoned on her stomach and purple handprints on her buttocks.
The girl shouted and safety officers rapidly wrapped her in a jacket, eradicating her from the occasion. Visitors appeared bemused and the swinging pageant music performed on.
The temporary protest occurred on the world premiere of “Three Thousand Years of Longing”, with stars Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton poised to reach and stroll the well-known steps of the Palais des Festivals.
