Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov instructed PBS in an interview on Monday that Russia would resort to nuclear weapons solely within the case of a “risk to the existence” of his nation – and never because of the present battle with Ukraine.
“However any final result of the operation (in Ukraine), after all shouldn’t be a purpose for utilization of a nuclear weapon,” Peskov stated.
“We’ve got a safety idea that very clearly states that solely when there’s a risk for existence of the state, in our nation, we are able to use and we’ll really use nuclear weapons to remove the risk for the existence of our nation,” he stated.
