Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has come out to defend Jesse Lingard after he revealed final weekend the midfielder had informed him the environment within the membership’s dressing room is a “catastrophe”.
Referring to a choice to disclaim Lingard a January transfer away from Previous Trafford, Scholes informed TalkSPORT: “I feel Jesse has been handled fairly poorly by the membership, to be trustworthy. He was able to signal for Newcastle at one level and West Ham, proper on the finish of deadline day and he was informed he was going to get extra minutes.
“That clearly hasn’t occurred. He is deserved an opportunity. All of us noticed what he did at West Ham. He is a very good footballer and may deliver objectives to a staff and with this staff enjoying so poorly as effectively, for him to not get an opportunity… I feel he is unfairly handled.
“I feel he may swimsuit him [Ten Hag] and he may wish to hold him. We’ll see what occurs.”
Lingard has began simply 4 matches in all competitions this marketing campaign after starring for West Ham in the course of the second half of final season.
