LONDON, June 1 (Reuters) – Queen Elizabeth stated on Wednesday she had been impressed by the outpouring of goodwill forward of celebrations to mark her Platinum Jubilee, saying she hoped the festivities would provide an opportunity to look again on the achievements of the final 70 years.
The 96-year-old marked seven many years as British monarch in February, and 4 days of occasions, events and parades to honour her record-breaking reign start on Thursday.
“Thanks to everybody who has been concerned in convening communities, households, neighbours and buddies to mark my Platinum Jubilee, in the UK and throughout the Commonwealth. I do know that many glad recollections can be created at these festive events,” she stated.
“I proceed to be impressed by the goodwill proven to me, and hope that the approaching days will present a possibility to mirror on all that has been achieved over the past seventy years, as we glance to the longer term with confidence and enthusiasm.”
