WASHINGTON, Might 26 (Reuters) – The Nationwide Freeway Visitors Security Administration stated on Thursday it has requested Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) for details about a current 2021 Tesla Mannequin Y fireplace in Vancouver, British Columbia, by which a driver reported struggling to exit.
The NHTSA instructed Reuters the company “is conscious of the incident and has reached out to the producer for info.”
Electrek posted a video of the incident by which the proprietor stated he obtained an error notification after which noticed smoke. The motive force stated that to get out he “needed to smash the window. … I kicked by the window as a result of the whole lot stops. The ability didn’t work. The door didn’t open. The home windows did not go down.”
Tesla didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
