U.S. and Switzerland working on facilitating pharma trade, U.S. ambassador says

ZURICH, Aug 13 (Reuters) – America and Switzerland can transfer in the direction of free commerce between their international locations with sectoral offers and they’re engaged on facilitating enterprise within the pharmaceutical sector, the U.S. ambassador to Switzerland instructed the Tages Anzeiger newspaper.

Scott Miller mentioned that within the final spherical of commerce negotiations between the 2 international locations, Switzerland was not ready to open its agricultural marketplace for U.S. merchandise.

Talks on a free commerce settlement between the 2 international locations have stalled.

However Miller mentioned that with the US now the no. 1 export marketplace for Switzerland, “we are able to take steps in the direction of free commerce by concluding sectoral agreements.”
