Sept 15 (Reuters) – As an actor and producer for Sony Footage’ “The Girl King”, Viola Davis stated the Black girl historic epic was in contrast to any venture she’s labored on.
The film, which premiered on the Toronto Worldwide Movie Competition on Sept. 9, is predicated on the true story of the Agojie, a real-life group of feminine warriors who protected the African Kingdom of Dahomey within the 1800s.
