GENEVA, Nov 2 (Reuters) – The biggest pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond ever put up for public sale might promote for as much as $35 million at a Christie’s sale of uncommon jewels on Nov. 8, the auctioneer stated on Wednesday.
“The diamond weighs 18.18 carats, which is in fact an especially fortuitous quantity for Asian collectors. We have had an enormous quantity of curiosity world wide already,” stated Max Fawcett, head of Christie’s jewelry division in Geneva.
“The color is phenomenal. It is a true vivid pink and a clear stone. It actually, actually is a gem and one thing that we have not seen in a very long time at Christie’s.”
The Fortune Pink Diamond is estimated to go for $25 million to $35 million.
The biggest vivid pink diamond bought at Christie’s was the 18.96-carat Winston Pink Legacy, which received $50.4 million in 2018, a world document worth per carat for a pink diamond bought at public sale.
